Plant Description

Star Grass (Dichromena Colorata) or White Star Sedge, is a member of the sedge family, native to the coasts of Virginia through Florida. Foliage consists of narrow blades of green, ornamental grass that is adorned with lovely, star shaped, white bracts, that appear as flowers atop the grass in summer until fall. Slow spreading and grows  12 - 18 inches tall--with an 18 inch spread.

Planting Instructions

Star Grass (Dichromena Colorata) also known as White Star Sedge, grows well in moist, boggy, loam soil and is great for naturalizing. A great plant for marshes and wetlands. Does well in full sun to part shade. Plant in full sun to part shade in moist, loam soil with up to 3 inches of water above the roots, deeper depth is for established plants. Hardy in zones 7 - 11
