How to Plant, Feed & Grow

Lined Ponds: Plant in a wide, shallow, soft aquatic fabric planter filled with heavy garden loam soil (never light potting mix). Position rhizome at a 45-degree angle with the growing tip/crown left barely exposed above the soil line.
Natural Earth-Bottom Ponds: Plant directly into shallow marginal earthen shelves. As a large, robust variety, it naturalizes quickly in bottom sediments and rarely requires supplemental feeding once rooted.
Measuring Depth: Depth is always measured from the surface of the water down to the top of the soil or planter rim, never to the pond bottom.
Fertilizing Schedule: For potted plants, insert 3 to 5 fish-safe aquatic fertilizer tablets into the root zone on the 1st and 15th of each month during active spring and summer growth.

NO Rocks or Gravel: Never cover soil with pebbles, rocks, or pea gravel. This smothers the rhizome crown, prevents healthy growth, and completely voids your plant guarantee.
Full Outdoor Sun Only: Water lilies need full, direct all-day outdoor sun to blossom. They will not flower indoors or under shade.
Wildlife Protection: Large Koi, turtles, and deer actively consume water lily foliage and crowns. Protect young plants and avoid keeping in ponds with large turtles or heavy Koi populations.
