Trapdoor Pond Snails (Save in Bulk Quantity)
A beneficial and interesting addition to your water garden or pond! Japanese Trapdoor Snails are great scavengers and algae eaters. JapaneseTrapdoor Snails will spend hours moving slowly across the bottom of the pond eating algae, dead plant material and leftovers from fish pellets or fish food. They are often seen on the leaves of plants eating the algae, but in many cases, not seen at all. Once you add the trapdoor snails to your pond, you may actually never see them as they stay on the sides and bottom of the pond throughout their lives (lifespan is 1 - 5 years). Once you receive your Japanese Trapdoor Snails, release them as gently as possible into your pond. Do not float the bag as the snails may 'cook'. Japanese Trapdoor Snails do not breed as frequently as other freshwater snails and have far fewer young. Japanese Trapdoor Snails are peaceful and get along well with most fish and other snails.
